The Nigerian Slaughter House

A very distant week or so ago the mad beast
Ran wild screaming and cheering about
The blood-lust that over took their soul,
And Satan agreed that to be pure and free
Is to slaughter the innocent men, women
And children – silence the innocent voices
Of tomorrow. The mad men
Armed them selves with machetes, hatchet blades
And other killing machines
To make sure death would be permanent
And swift. Half the sun was covered with heartbreaking blood,
And the Nigerian town’s people wept,
And as their tears fell to the blooded earth,
A cheer came from the mad men
And said we are the chosen one,
And one Nigerian man
Whom was cut and bruised
From head to toe..,-asked God
To forgive all of the mad beast,
And God answered the Nigerian man’s plea
From the vast universe – fear not,
The innocent shall be remembered
From this day forth
And they will walk with me
Until eternity remembers them
As stars that light the universe
A billion times past the arms of infinity.
